End of Project Year
Written by Administrator
Thursday, 24 September 2009

Thank you to all the 4-H Horse Project members, parents, family members, leaders, and volunteers who made the 2008 - 2009 project year a great success. Our project year officially ended this past Sunday, September 20th, with the last day of showing at the WI State 4-H Horse Expo. For many there was little time to rest as clubs like Ottawa had their first full-club meeting of the 2009 - 2010 project year on Monday evening, Sept. 21st.

Again we experienced the joy of seeing riders, some new to state competition, come through with outstanding performances and we also experienced the sadness of seeing friends retire from from the showring with their last ride as a 4-H member.

Congratulations to all exhibitors from Waukesha County who once again upheld our reputation as one of the top counties in Wisconsin. Watch this site for a review of State placings - coming soon.

Not your traditional 4-H story:

Gimmicks draw attention to small banks

Alissa Audley, a Waukesha County Horse Project member, was on National Public Radio, Sept. 1. American Public Media's Marketplace radio show, out of Los Angeles, is picked up by NPR nation-wide. Starting the story on small banks is the Pony Express promotion launched by Sunset Bank and carried out by Alissa, their Pony Express delivery rider.
