Open Freestyle Showmanship Requirements

Exhibitors will be required to create a written pattern with illustration to the judge prior to executing the pattern. Copy of pattern turned into the show office prior to the start of the show.  Exhibitors will be responsible for setting up any cones needed for the pattern.

Required maneuvers:

  1. Setup for inspection

  2. At least one pivot

  3. Back (at least 4 steps)

  4. Walk and Trot

NOTE: Exhibitors will be judged on correctness of maneuvers, but extra credits will be given for added level of difficulty in the patterns design and execution. The exhibitors should design their pattern to showcase their horses ability.

Examples of increased difficulties:

  1. Backing (not in a straight line)

  2. Pivots that exceed 360 degrees

  3. Multiple transitions from the walk to trot to walk.
